  Our largest cottage is semi-detached and is all on one level. It’s especially bright and airy, particularly well suited to people with visual impairments. It has its own patio with bench seating and overlooks a small garden and bird table.

  Our allergy free cottage so no pets are allowed. It’s a small and cosy cottage with an accessible ground-floor bedroom and second bedroom in the upstairs gallery. It opens onto the courtyard and has bench seating with planters just outside the door.

  Cottage opens out onto a riverside patio with views across the River Dee and Balmoral Golf Course. It has an accessible twin bedroom downstairs and second bedroom in the upstairs gallery.

Additional Care

We provide self-catering cottages so we can’t directly offer on-site carers or any support packages. However, we know that additional help is a must for some people and we are happy for you to make a provisional booking with no obligation. Meanwhile you can try to arrange the right care package for your needs.

You may be able to access a suitable package through Braemar Care, a new organisation based nearby. It aims to deliver a first class service to people who have struggled to access care in the past. It’s in the early stages of development, but is keen to work with our guests at Crathie Opportunity Holidays and would welcome your inquiries. Your own Care Manager may also be able to make contact on your behalf.

First class from start to finish. These cottages were in the perfect location to explore the area. I love everything about them, the back story, the staff, the set up in each one, the extras ie pieces of equipment should you need them. There aren't enough places with set-ups like this in Scotland. My husband, a wheelchair user, said, it's the first place he'd been to where he felt at home, no stress, no fear of not being in his own surroundings. Thanks to Maggie and her team, we had the most amazing holiday. We were also so lucky with the weather too. I managed a few walks and would highly recommend the Cairns walk which runs round the back of the Balmoral estate, great views from the top. I would also recommend a walk along the main road to the Highlanders Bakehouse. Wow, the butteries, cinnamon buns and coffee are to die for! Best we'd ever had, our only disappointment was that they're only open Thurs - Sun but well worth the wait!! They also have a shop in Braemar open the same days. We had our cocker spaniel with us who loved running around in the garden. We are already planning at least one trip back for next year.

First point of contact excellent.Happy to accommodate with most requests.Everything was designed for disabled party's .Invited to coffee morning great cheese scones and raspberry meringues .Such a great bunch of people ,very welcoming to all.Deffo coming back to a very special place
