We’d love to hear from you after your holiday and would be delighted to receive a review on Euan’s Guide or Trip Advisor:

” A massive ‘thank-you’ to girls in office, all volunteers, people of Crathie.  For  2 weeks we have felt part of the Community.  We have never had such a relaxing holiday.  A real ‘home from home’!

Maggie and Ron from Essex

“Our first visit but not our last, already booked for a later holiday.  The property, location and staff ticks all the boxes.  We are very impressed with the level of comfort and equipment available, to give a disabled visitor peace of mind and confidence.  Certainly worthy of all the awards won.  Have no hesitation in recommending the centre to others.”

Tom and June

“Had a very enjoyable 4 nights.  Everything was just perfect.  The cottage is so comfortable and excellently equipped.  Enjoyed a visit to Balmoral and had a very nice lunch there.  Also enjoyed the coffee morning on Wednesday, lovely homemade cakes!  It was nice to meet others visiting the cottages and chat about places to go and things to see.”

Morag and Malcolm

“After visiting the coffee morning and seeing 2 of the cottages we were reassured that this was going to be a very worthwhile experience for us.  The facilities on offer are first class and although we did not need all the equipment on offer, we could see what was available.  Help was much appreciated in changing dates due to my fall.  All the staff are so helpful and friendly and nothing was any bother.”

Iain and Margaret

“Well what can we say? 5* plus is what we say!  Everything was excellent, what a way to relax, hearing the birds sing and listening to the sound of the River Dee run by.  Staff and the ladies from the coffee morning were fab.  Thank you so much for our holiday.  We will be back!”

Annette, John and Stephen

“Equipped with everything we could need… we had a great time and will strongly recommend this place to others.”

“Nothing is too much trouble – you are trusted to be here with the facilities”

Fran, Isobel, James

“This time we came ‘out of season’ but the weather has been brilliant, and as always the accommodation is so perfect for us.

I recommend that when you have the end of winter ‘blues’ you come here for a few days to lighten your mood before summer.”

Elaine, Patricia and Marie

“Thank you, thank you for the best stay ever!  We were welcomed and felt at peace here.  And best of all, when my powered wheelchair died up a hill there was one ready to borrow here and as a result I got to go to church with Her Majesty!  No fuss, just everything available to keep me mobile!  Thank You.”

A lovely review in Scottish Field Magazine April 2013:

“It is very rare to find such a “fully accessible” holiday cottage – a market leader!”

“Hello Maggie.I’m emailing to thank you, Beth and Lorraine for making our visit to Crathie Opportunity Holidays in August such a memorable one.  We hadn’t realised that we had been coming for ten years, but when you reminded us that we came in your first year of opening it caused us to reflect on all the wonderful holidays we have had with you since then.  Coming to Crathie is the highlight of our summer for many reasons but most of all because we can be completely confident that if we have any difficulties you will be there to help.  This is extremely important for us as disabled people – equally important to having physically accessible accommodation.  We have had holidays in other accessible premises that have been spoiled by the attitudes of people working there, either intrusive and patronising or bigoted and unhelpful.  The reason we enjoy coming to Crathie so much is that you get the balance just right, treating us as valued customers who may need specific types of assistance from time to time.  That is the key word – ‘customer’; disabled people are so often treated as a nuisance with annoying requirements  by businesses that will go out of the way to provide all sorts of tailored services to other ‘normal’ customers.  When we came for our first holiday in Crathie I was a little worried about what would happen if we got into any difficulty and needed help in such a remote location.  As a wheelchair user and a person with Type 1 diabetes travelling together this is something we always have to bear in mind.  Last year was a good example of this.  My power chair developed a fault, which meant that I was unable to use it to go on our ‘walks’ in the surrounding countryside which is the highlight of the holiday for me as we live in a noisy, busy city.  Straight away you provided contact details of places we could contact to see if they had suitable spare parts. We obtained the required part and were able to thoroughly enjoy the rest of the holiday.  In short, you and Beth and Lorraine provide exemplary customer service and that’s what makes Crathie Opportunity Holidays so special.”

Susan & Alden from Leeds

“The general setting is fantastic but without the excellent facilities we wouldn’t be able to enjoy it.”
Stephen & Mary

“The staff were extremely helpful when Ann had two nasty falls with a level of help unlikely to be found in other similar places”
Anne & Alan

“The peacefulness and tranquility of the cottages and their surroundings fill you with a sense of wellbeing.”

“We have searched on the internet for hours to find a suitable holiday for us but nothing could provide the wheelchair access with the equipment we require – hoist, shower chair etc.  This is the best place we found.”
J Mitchell

“It is the 1st disabled friendly family holiday we’ve been able to take without compromising something, all the equipment needed was provided and we could bring our pet dog”
